On November 28 Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Denmark Trine Bramsen had a meeting at Šiauliai Lithuanian Air Force Base. Ministers discussed the regional security situation, the upcoming NATO Leaders Meeting, and bilateral cooperation.

NATO Day in the Region events continue – NATO soldiers in Lithuania are inviting to meet in Kėdainiai

On November 28 soldiers of the NATO allies deployed in Lithuania will hold a community engagement event in Kėdainiai. It will be one of the meetings with the allied troops in Lithuania in the “NATO Day in the Region: Come, See, and Learn!” cycle of events, held for the NATO soldiers to get to know Lithuanian people in the region, tell about their mission and activities in Lithuania, remind what NATO is, what its goals are and what the importance of NATO membership to Lithuania is. NATO event in the region is organised to commemorate the 70th NATO anniversary and the 15th Lithuania’s anniversary in NATO.

“Malignant activities of hostile states are intensifying and traditional spying activities are taken to cyberspace nowadays. We have the coordinated EU cyber diplomacy response measures – we must use them when the malicious actors are attempting to attack our institutions, business and society,” Vice Minister of National Defence Edvinas Kerza said to the Ambassadors of the EU member states gathered at the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union in Brussels Friday.

On November 23 servicemembers lined up in a solemn formation on the Cathedral Square in Vilnius to mark the 101th anniversary of the Re-established Lithuanian Armed Forces. Platoons of all services and units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces flew their unit flags and stood in the same formation side by side with colleagues from the countries taking part in the NATO enhance Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group, soldiers serving in the Joint Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian Brigade LITPOLUKRBIG, and soldiers of the U.S. Battalion deployed in Lithuania.

On November 11–22 international cybersecurity and defence Exercise Amber Mist 2019 is held in Lithuania. It trains national and multinational teams formed by institutions and enterprises of the private and the public sectors of the state, Lithuanian Armed Forces, NATO allies and partners. A team of the Cyber Rapid Reaction Teams (RRTs) project initiated by Lithuania under the EU Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) framework is taking part in the exercise for the second consecutive year. It is done in preparation for the rotation in 2020 when the first international team formed under PESCO framework and led by Lithuania will enter the standby.
