Improvised explosive devices - one of the biggest hazards in Afghanistan and Ghowr 2012.08.01

Military personnel of the 15th shift of Lithuanian-led Provincial Reconstruction Team of Ghowr testify that one of the greatest current dangers in Ghowr is improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and unexploded ammunition remaining after former wars.
Often IEDs in Afghanistan are invoked not only by the insurgents opposing the NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) but also by tribes involved in internecine conflicts. Such devices is one of the cheapest options for battle available in Afghanistan and are consequently frequently used. |
