Defence Policy Directors of the Baltic States addressed development of new projects in the region


On September 17 Policy Director of the Ministry of National Defence Dr. Vaidotas Urbelis attended a meeting of the three Baltic States’ Defence Policy Directors in Tallinn, Estonia. The meeting focused on the enhancement of cooperation of the three Baltic States and the possibilities to expand it. The countries rendered their proposals on the projects that could be implemented in the Baltic Region.


The Policy Directors also discussed joint projects underway, their scope and importance in prospect. Major attention was also aid to the Baltic Air Policing mission, its principles of execution and future costs.


The Policy Directors also discussed perspectives of cooperation in the Nordic-Baltic and Nordic Group formats, discussed the nearest meetings to be attended by all the Baltic countries – the meeting of Baltic-Polish Defence Ministers take place, Baltic-US policy makers meetings, Nordic-Baltic Defence Policy Directors meeting, Nordic Group meeting, etc. At the meeting information was also shared on the preparations for the upcoming NATO exercise in our region STEADFAST JAZZ 2013.
