Soldiers of Algirdas Battalion left for UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force exercise 2018.04.19
 On April 18 soldiers of the 3rd Mechanised Infantry Company of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Algirdas Mechanised Infantry Battalion left for the United Kingdom to train in a two-week exercise of the UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) Joint Warrior 18.1. Lithuanians will train in the exercise in a training area in Salisbury Plain together with soldiers from other JEF-contributing countries: Denmark, Estonia, UK, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, and Sweden. |

Defence Attaché of Kazakhstan accredited to Lithuania 2018.04.17
 On April 17 Colonel Mukhan Zhassuzakov was accredited as Defence Attaché of Kazakhstan to Lithuania. He was welcomed by Vice Minister of National Defence Vytautas Umbrasas. “We appreciate the decision of the Government of Kazakhstan to appoint the first ever Defence Attaché to Lithuania and we are looking forward to that giving an impetus to further bilateral cooperation,” Vice Minister V. Umbrasas said at the accreditation ceremony. Lithuania’s interest in Kazakhstan has been represented by a Defence Attaché since 2008, since 2016 the Defence Attaché of the Republic of Lithuania to Kazakhstan is based in Beijing, China. |
