Third military technology creative camp invites engineering and cybersecurity lovers

The first hackathon this year and the third one in total, defence and technology development camp DELTA1 will take place at Juozas Vitkus Engineer Battalion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces in Kaunas. Scientists, inventors, fans of the military and experts of numerous areas will be developing innovative solutions for defence and the Armed Forces of Lithuania through the weekend on April 3–5. Monetary prizes will be awarded for the best creations. This year the focus is on military engineering, cybersecurity, communication and IT solutions.

A wider-ranging battle management system to ensure a fluent transfer of situational awareness information from frontlines to headquarters is installed at the Lithuanian Armed Forces. It is a step in the modernisation of the Lithuanian Armed Forces to ensure as efficient command and control as possible. The decision to add more versions to the battle management system made by Systematic, an international company, and to install it in all units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces was taken in late 2019.

On February 14–16 Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis will attend the international Munich Security Conference in Germany.

The 56th edition of the event held in the capital of Bavaria will address about the collective defence of the Western countries, future of the European Union and NATO, hotspots, cyber and energy security, climate change, the Arctic, and other international issues.
