New Defence Attaché of France accredited to Lithuania 2020.07.29
  On July 29 Defence Attachés of France rotated during a ceremony at the Ministry of National Defence. Outgoing Defence Attaché Col Stéphane Loechleiter was awarded the Medal of Merit by Vice Minister of National Defence Eimutis Misiūnas in recognition of his merits in strengthening bilateral Lithuanian-French defence cooperation. Vice Minister of National Defence also wished to the new Defence Attaché Lt Col Frédéric Lemoine good luck and to continue strengthening the already intensifying cooperation between Lithuania and France. |

Media invitation to attend presentation of French Army operational capabilities 2020.07.22
 Media representatives are invited to cover presentation of equipment brought to the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group by the French Tactical Component at Rukla on July 23. The troops and equipment are deployed from the 5th Dragoon Regiment located in Mailly le Camp and equipped with the best assets in the French Army, a battalion well-adapted with the relevant knowledge to conduct the training period within the NATO eFP Lithuania. Like all the other eFP contingents, the French soldiers brought their combat, logistical and administrative equipment. The maneuver unit will be serving with Leclerc main battle tanks and VBCI infantry fighting vehicles. |

German Air Force reinforces patrolling of the Baltic airspace 2020.07.20
 The Baltic airspace is protected by a German Eurofighter detachment that strengthen the Baltic Air Policing Mission conducted from Šiauliai. The German Air Force detachment from the Tactical Fighter Wing 21 deployed last week on the basis of bilateral agreement with the United Kingdom: it joined the already deployed Royal Air Force detachment and the Spanish Air Force detachment enhancing the mission. |

U.S. military presence in Lithuania is a significant factor of deterrence contributing to NATO’s efforts in the Baltic region, Minister of National Defence R.Karoblis says 2020.07.16
 "I am pleased to have the U.S. as a strategic partner of Lithuania, as well as one of the main allies that provide security for the whole Baltic region. We are truly thankful for the U.S. rotational troops in Lithuania because it is a significant factor of deterrence contributing to NATO’s efforts in the Baltic region. We seek to provide appropriate conditions to the soldiers of the USA to train and we are looking forward to U.S. rotational troops in the future,” the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania Raimundas Karoblis said on July 16, after the meeting with U.S. Secretary of the Army Ryan D. McCarthy who is conducting a formal visit to Lithuania. |
