New U.S. rotation settled in at Pabradė in the brand new Camp Herkus 2021.08.30
![]() On August 30 Camp Herkus was inaugurated, based at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area at Pabradė, it already accommodates the United States rotational troops deployed to Lithuania. The new infrastructure is tailored to ensure proper training and living conditions and expand the capacity to rotate more U.S. military personnel through the country. |

The Seimas passes amendments to the law – military personnel will have additional authority in emergencies 2021.08.10
![]() On August 10 the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania approved the proposed amendments to the Law on the Organization of National Defence and Military Service and to the Statute on the Use of Military Force. Specific rights and additional authority have been bestowed on Lithuanian Armed Forces personnel for the events of emergency with rapidly increasing scope of the event and the need to assist the police, State Border Guard Service or the Public Security Service under the Ministry of the Interior in their functions to prevent threats to public peace. |
